MorningPrayer Friday


Dear God,
    Do we dare open our eyes to the sound of the new day? Will we see snow falling or stars still rising. Will our eyes work in the mist of our brains and the fog of the dawn. Will tasks undone be miraculously accomplished and the to do slate wiped clean.  Will eternal youth have healed our aches and pains and wisdom replaced our swamp of understanding. Will our Amens be prayers of gratitude and praise or complaints of burdens and sorrows.  
    Whatever we see on opening our eyes, might it be the vision of your heart and the mind of your soul in the loving of the Holy Spirit.  Thank you God. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
