MorningPrayer Sunday

Holy Lord,
   This morning, may we be still after the rush of the week.  May we slow ourselves into serenity and float in the Spirit of bliss.  May we cast off the burdens that enslave us and bend our back. May our bodies rest in the hammock of a slow pulse and our minds drift in the bird song of rhythmic melody.  In harmony of mind, body and spirit may we be gentle and free in the love and grace of heaven's smile. AMEN

Dear God, In the background of humanities struggle, the world of nature continues to flourish and provide. There is an inherent complexity in the design,  and this complex web continues its flow into our veins and cells,  proving once again that we are part of the ongoing order of life. What part do we play? What should we do to in the competition for survival? We ask to be filed with your Spirit of Holiness that provides us with knowledge, insight and wisdom. Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
