MorningPrayer Sunday

Holy Lord,
   For some of us our journey is linear and others cyclical.  For most it is both, and we have traveled far in spirit and body. We have turned with the wheel and flown towards the suns rising and setting. We have been washed clean by the tides and we have ridden waves mighty and small. We have stood at the foot of the cross and we have gazed into the empty tomb. The aroma of anointing  oils and flowers is strong. And yet, our journey continues in ways unknown and unexpected.  We pray to travel with you as our companion and Spirit guide of love. In grace, we close our eyes and see. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
