MorningPrayer Thursday

                                                                      Dear God,
                              Part of  our life is being caught in the contradictions
                                       and living with understanding and prayer:

             Some people might like and need snow and cold for their business and income 
             and others might find it a horrible burden and even have deadly consequences.
                                                               Hear our Prayer, O God.
                                  Upon the death of a love one who is an organ donor,
                                              there might be sorrow and weeping,
                                  but the recipient and family might be rejoicing and laughing.
                                                               Hear our Prayer, O God
                                                 In all of our comings and goings in life,
                                      might we be aware of the blessings  and sorrows
                                      in our lives  and aware of the lives of those around us.
                                                                Hear our Prayer, O God
                                                                               AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
