MorningPrayer Monday

Dear God,
     Like snow, gently falling in the twilight of the day, may we quietly and calmly flow through our day with grace and simplicity. In the silent beauty of snow against the darkened trees and the morning blue sky, might we be unifying agents of goodness and grace.  Help us to stand against chaos and conflict and instead, be people who unite by love and harmony.  May we not be naive but certainly idealistic in our vision, hopes and expectations for humanity.  With you, God, in your vision, we pray. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
