MorningPrayer Thursday

Dear God,
   In the midst of our blessings and comforts which many of us have, we ask for peace of mind and heart.  In the midst of love and soul spirits who soar with us in the heavens we ask for loving compassion for all people.  In the midst of our convictions and beliefs we ask for understanding of other souls. As a member of the human race, we ask that other people attempt to live in peace with one another, do not force their convictions and  beliefs on others and refrain from greed, violence, hatred and bitterness.  Yes, God, we live, many of us in comfort and blessings, and we pray for our world and its people. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
