MorningPrayer Tuesday

Lord God,
   If the clash of a cymbal shatters my silence, may the angels with harps gentle my nerves.  If I loose my balance and stumble and fall may the angels catch me on hovering wings. If I can't catch my breath because of anxiety and stress, may the angels breathe gentle prayers into my heart and bring me into silence and quiet faith. In other words, in a normal typical day, might we live in our faith and belief and trust God. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
