MorningPrayer Monday

Dear God,
   Some days meander like a stream down a mountain, jogging left then right then around a boulder or over a hump. It feels like the stream will go where it will, we have little control.  We pray that the water will be freshened with the living spirit and that we will have vision about where we have been and see where we are going. Today, might we enjoy the journey and be alive in the interplay between stream and mountain. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
