MorningPrayer Thursday

Dear God,
  As we walk this day of responsibility and commitment, opening and shutting the same doors of our week, may we do so with fresh eyes and ears.  May we see light reflecting off the filaments of spider webs we push aside. May we hear music in the casual sounds of the street flowing around us. May our heartbeat, our breath and our footsteps be a walk of beauty, harmony and balance.  In the midst of the ordinary and mundane, might we be lifted into the awareness of your divine smile and joy. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
