MorningPrayer Monday

Dear God,
     Maybe it is not a good day; the coffee is cold, the toast is burnt, the banana is tasteless, the dog ran away, it is windy and cold, the cat burnt its tail, my head is tired, the kids are fighting, there is nothing to wear, the cell phone is turning off... probably the car won't start and its out of gas and money is gone... everyone looks grumpy, the news is bad, the world is out-of-control, the weather is changing, the garden probably won't grow this summer and no one will give me presents next Christmas.
    God, do youthink I should take a hot shower?  "Yes, my child, there is plenty of hot water."  AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
