MorningPrayer Sunday

Lord God,
   This journey we are on is filled with hazards of which we have little or no control.  This journey we are on is also filled with blessings.  We pray for the strength and faith to meet both with dignity and integrity.  We treasure this life and pray we might fulfill our soul's purpose from birth to death.  In those final moments of passing might we turn our inward eye to you, God, see your face and feel our heart burn with love. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
