MorningPrayer Thursday

Dear God,
    May we in your presence be balanced.  May the cycles and rhythms of our life be in harmony with the natural forces of the universe.  May we flow like spring sap and be solid like fertile earth. May we know the wonder of bright sun and sapphire, scented rain. May we grow in wisdom, laugh in joy and walk in beauty. May your love nurture us and your grace surround us. May springs of living water gush from us and nourish the earth. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
