MorningPrayer Friday

Dear God,
   Sometimes December is hard on people who are alone or just scraping by, the loneliness and the poverty can be over whelming.  We pray that the stress of the holidays will not be a hardship but that the joy of the season will lift spirits and hearts.  For those of us in comfort and abundance, we humbly give thanks for our blessings, and pray that the dreams and hopes of all will be met in the peace  and blessings of all. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
