MorningPrayer Monday

Dear God,
    Moving mountains is arduous work, and yet with your help and in your grace it must be possible.  We ask for assistance in moving the mountains of poverty and injustice.  We need your breath and hand to help us in the landslides of soothing people's nerves and hearts.  We need wisdom to move the mountains required for peace and reconciliation.  So, God, we will pray as hard as we can, but in you  we put our trust and faith to move those mountains. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
