MorningPrayer Thursday

Dear God,
    The day slides into action, wrapping arms of light around us.  We are lifted to our feet on the tendrils of responsibility and freshened and spruced for the days needs.  Perhaps, we will find the silver lining in the spirit of a stranger and re-see the golden edge of love and joy in our family. Perhaps our own short comings or guilt will wash away like a dark stain, bleached by the light of new hope and vision.  May it be so-- that your infinite love and eternal grace will embrace us, wholly and completely. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
