MorningPrayer Friday

Dear God,
    To pray for peace in our world, means to change the minds and beliefs of many. Do we have that right? Do you have that power? Is there a will and energy to achieve peace? We pray that we are right in our knowledge that you would break the spear and end wars.  This is your desire, we believe, and as we look at the world, at the devastation, pain, suffering and displacement of people... we know that to pray for peace is the right thing to do.  Let war be no more, God. Hear our prayer. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
