MorningPrayer Sunday

Dear God,
    We are gripped in this state of being, called, life.  It holds us tenaciously and bids us to sprint the earth's surface spiraling and leaping. We flow like streams sharing the mountain with older rivers and newer trickles of life, running our course in joy and sorrow until we flow into the ocean of eternity. Ah God, for this gift of life, we praise you and give you thanks.  We are in awe for this moment in time, bowing our head in wonder and lifting our hands in amazement.  We are overcome. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
