MorningPrayer Sunday

Dear God,
   If we are to be overwhelmed, may it not be fear or chaos, but may it be awe and wonder and mystery. May we take off disappointments and frustrations like an old worn cloak and dropping it to the ground, put on the new garment of praise and joy. May we seek the sight that is of inner peace and eternal grace.  May we embrace new possibilities even as we are embraced in our fullest potential. In mercy and wholeness may we be. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
