Gentle Loving God,
  Hold us carefully and tenderly, for we are vulnerable. In your spirit hold us with brilliance and power, for we are strong, resilient and filled with instincts for life. We are being made in your image, and we find love expressing itself in grand and eloquent ways. If we are weak, it is because we are being cleansed and we are being healed so we might offer the gift of meaning to life. In all ways, we open ourselves to your compassionate touch and our tears and pain we give to you. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
