MorningPrayer Sunday

Dear God,
      When we are tired and weary, let us rest ourselves in you. Not just sleep but rest in the nest of your love and the shelter of your wing. Let peace then flow over us like a gentle fall breeze and the warmth of your protection radiate into our bones and heal our heart. There is no tomorrow in this space, the time and place of wholeness is complete unto itself and we are healed and made well. In Jesus mercy and grace, let it be. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
