MorningPrayer Monday

Holy Lord God,
   We are in the final week of our journey to Christmas day; a time of profound meaning and beauty for some and  meaningless or painful for others.  Whatever our mindset, may we walk in tranquility and contentment with you as our guide.  May you be present with us, "Emmanuel",  and immerse us in the mystery, wonder and hope of this walk and this season.  May we recommit ourselves to love and peace in heart, soul and actions. In Jesus name we pray. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
