MorningPrayer Wednesday

Oh God,
    Sometimes we long to escape all the noise; the radio, TV, hum of fans and generators, chain saws, I-75 traffic, sirens, voices... and retreat into silence that cruises like a distant cloud through our mind.  Like prophets and seers of old, we want to escape to the silent cave or the endless desert and become saturated in the void.  Perhaps, there, we will hear your voice, the quiet whisper of revelation and insight and find our own voice of tranquility.  A voice of discernment and gentle wisdom. Hush, be still...AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
