MorningPrayer Saturday

Dear God,
  Help us to make our moments count.  Let us be intentional in the events of our day whether we choose to sit and watch the grass grow and the clouds move or whether we weed the garden or trim a hedge or whether we cook pasta or bake a pie or whether we read a book or write a letter...or...well, you get the idea.  May each moment count for its own self in the beating of our heart and the breath of our lungs -- may we know the treasure of the day. Oh, and please God, be with us in all of the above. Thank you. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
