MorningPrayer Tuesday

Dear God,
   Between here and there is a detour I must take, and if the road is crooked or the  traffic is dense or the GPS leads me astray, would you please help us to "recalculate."  For  there must be a way to get from here to there, even though it is unclear at the moment and we seem quite lost. So, in spite of our best intentions to do this alone, it seems we need a navigator, a pilot and a guide. It is not, O God, a failure, but a success to realize that not only do we need help, but help, i.e., You, are here. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
