MorningPrayer Thursday

Dear God,
  Hear our prayers, we ask humbly. There are those who struggle with anxiety and fear and find  themselves tossed about by stormy seas. Wherever and whoever they are, we pray they might feel the calm of your voice saying, "Be still!" Only then, may there be peace and serenity of heart and soul. Our spirits need the quietude and certainty of your peace, O God.  May we rest our weary souls in you. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi

Dear God, The morning mist consumes much of the world in its shroud of unknowing. But revealed is the rock on which I stand and the raft of safety if I venture forth. You, O God, are the rock and the raft, for wherever I go, you are there. For your love and grace is always with us all. AMEN
