MorningPrayer Thursday

Holy Lord and God,
   As we cruise the seas of this day, might the winds be slight and the rains be gentle.  Might the sun be warm and the company be pleasant. Might our food be healthy and our hearts beat strongly. Might the air be clean and our lungs be pure. Might we smile and laugh and be filled with joy....but....if the opposites be our journey for this day, might you be there to keep us afloat.  Might someone else throw us a lifeline. Might our spirit survive to sail again in calmer seas. AMEN.
p.s. ...or, if someone else is floundering, might we be the ones to throw the lifeline. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi

Dear God, The morning mist consumes much of the world in its shroud of unknowing. But revealed is the rock on which I stand and the raft of safety if I venture forth. You, O God, are the rock and the raft, for wherever I go, you are there. For your love and grace is always with us all. AMEN
