MorningPrayer Sunday

Dear God,
  In this ever changing world, it is sometimes difficult to keep up and stay up.  There are risks of disaster both natural and of human origin that can occur without warning, but yet, we don't want to live in fear. There are issues of personal health and relationship. economics and comfort that are part of our daily events. If we focus on the waves, the wind and the chaos, then we shall surely struggle and sink...but if we focus on you, Our God, and the life you give us as a blessing, then we shall surely walk on water and live on the wings of a prayer.  In Jesus name we pray. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
