MorningPrayer Wednesday

Dear God,
   Sometimes the walkway of life is not a smooth sidewalk through a grassy lawn but a slippery rope crossing over a swamp.  Our prayers are for those on the smooth walk; might they be in gratitude and thanks for the comforts, ease and blessings of this walk.  Our prayers are for those  who fear and struggle; might they have eyes and vision that  keep them focused on faith and hope.  Might there be inner peace in the midst of outer turmoil and strength and love of life that is found in the swamp.  Might Jesus hold our hand in our walk. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
