MorningPrayer Tuesday

Dear God,
   Sometimes our minds spin like a brightly painted top or a spiraling galaxy, flinging stars and ideas out at warp speed. Sometimes we loose our balance and totter out of control, careening across space and wobbling uncontrollably.  We are breathless in our spinning and our wobbling.  Help us to stop and be still O God. We can't keep up. We need a Holy pause to experience the Divine in all things. Like Jesus, let us go to the mountain top and pray. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
