MorningPrayer Friday

Loving God,
    Let us sit with bowed heads and folded hands and be quiet with you.  Focus our minds on your holiness and let us contemplate the nature of existence through the heart of you, our loving, living God.  Keep our mind from wandering. Help us to do the hard, mental work of keeping you in our thoughts. May we be flooded with humility, filled with awe and immersed in grace. Allow a smile to float across our faces and may our eyes shine in the wonder of this love. Let us be alive in the sacred and divine nature. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
