MorningPrayer Monday

Dear God,
   You have gifted us with the, "present moment".  Sometimes we take this gift and put it in a box and wrap it in pretty paper and place satin bows around and put it on the shelf for later; we are sure that it will be better tomorrow. Help us to understand that while dreams are important and worth working towards, there is nothing as precious as the gift of this moment. In this moment let us be alive, see with clarity, speak and move with purpose and open our hearts to the opportunities we are gifted with. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
