MorningPrayer Monday

Lord God,
   Help us to do what we must do today but without rancor, harshness or despair.  Help us to navigate the world of business, personal relations and  public situations with understanding, tolerance and the desire to find solutions. Let mediation and the principles of mercy and righteousness be our methods as we reach for our  goals and strive for justice.  In your name and with your help, O God, we shall live as members of your Kingdom. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
