MorningPrayer Thursday

Dear God,
   Thank you for our ancestors that have led the way into this present moment. For their journey, efforts, struggles and triumphs we give thanks; we are the recipients of their efforts and love.  Let us take nothing for granted, for we are neither entitled nor free from our own tasks and responsibilities. Help us to fulfill our souls purpose so that our descendants might continue to live in the blessing and the grace of life and love. In the stillness of our deepest selves, might we know the connection of eternity. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
