MorningPrayer Friday

Dear God,
   Sometimes we wonder, (some of us), why we have life so good?  Why hasn't more gone wrong and why do we live in such comfort and ease? Sure, there are some difficult issues and things to deal with, but for the most part, it has been a pretty fine life. A life of family, friends, church, community.  A life of beauty, comfort, work and pleasure.  A life with some loss and tragedy but  not overwhelming. There is much to be thankful for,  because we realize that many have not had it so good. So we give thanks for our blessings, and remember with love, those who have not had the joys we have had. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
