MorningPrayer Monday

Dear God,
    Help us to be brave, to ride the roller coaster without loosing our stomach or forgetting to breath.  May our cries of delight be prayers of joy and our screams of fear be prayers of wonder.  In these ups and downs of our daily ride through life, may we remember to pause at the pinnacle and see the majesty of the heavens and pause at the bottom and give thanks for the treasures of earth. God, you are our God, and in you we breath and live. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
