MorningPrayer Monday

Dear God,
    Sometimes we run down the life trail and stumble and fall.  Sometimes we run into sticky cobwebs stretched across the path, the threads gluing themselves to our face. Sometimes we swiftly run, leaping over tree roots and boulders, never faltering or slowing. Sometimes we  wander and stop, intrigued by a flower or leaf, slowed by the moment of grace.  Our prayer is this; on the trails and pathways of our life, be with us, and let us recognize and know of your presence. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
