MorningPrayer Tuesday

Dear God,
     Time seems to have us in the grasp of its hand. We have tried over time to do your will, to strive for purity, to reach for the highest and best in relationships. We have striven to do your commandments of love and to do unto others as we would have them do unto us.  But sometimes, time moves us in unforeseen directions. Help us to pause, be still and seek out the quiet place of your love where time stops and we are renewed and refreshed. Hold us in timeless grace and peace. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
