MorningPrayer Tuesday

Dear God,
   Hear our prayer, O God. We come to you with empty hands and a needy heart.  We need the gifts of life and love that you offer.  We need the blessings of forgiveness and attitudes of optimism that you give.  We need the dreams and hopes and visions of the Kingdom of God that you share. Hear our prayer, O  God.  Fill us full to overflowing so we might live in the treasure chest of your grace and share the steadfast love of your presence. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
