MorningPrayer Thursday

Dear God,
   May we stretch our hands in triumph, the ecstasy of the morning light and a new day of possibilities.  May our hearts be lifted, pulled skywards by the rising sun as our potential is awakened and you bring us fully into life, the glory of praise and gratitude.  Yes, God, we offer ourselves in thanksgiving for the blessings we have been given and pray that the light of your presence might shine through us. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
