MorningPrayer Friday

Dear God,
   In the rush of the day, it is easy to get caught up in windstorms and pounding seas.  It is easy to feel lost, neglected or worn out. May we have a Holy Pause that refreshes and rejuvenates. May we stop and take a moment; watch the sky unfurl and the trees bend to the cold winds.  Hear the symphony unleash its drums and the flute sing in the willows.  May we take the Be Still time and be Holy. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
