MorningPrayer Sunday

Lord God,
      May we  always be filled with gratitude for the blessings we have.  Let us not take for granted anything, especially the soft touch of love, but let our thankfulness shine as the milky way of stars. For those of us in comfort, let us remember those who are not, and be prayerful for our joys and for their tears.  May the Holy Spirit wash us clean and keep us pure in our faith. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
