MorningPrayer Thursday

Dear God,
     Like snowflakes, we flutter into life, unique and diverse.  Unlike snowflakes, we seek truth and meaning.  We seek contribution and purpose. We desire more than littering the roadways with our bodies and wasted lives.  We desire that which is lasting and creative and connected to the divine. So God, hear our prayer. Fill our gaps with meaning and your love and grace. In you and in our creative expression of love and peaceful, joyful, gentle living we find  truth. In Jesus name, we pray. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
