MorningPrayer Tuesday

Dear God,
   This play of our lives continues to unfold on the stage of life; sometimes drama, mystery, comedy or suspense. Sometimes  the plot twists to fantasy or scifi and we plunge down the rabbit hole or are hurled through black holes. But whether in our weeping, skulking, laughing, shaking or amazement, we pray to help write the script and not just be an out of control actor.  We pray that you will be on stage with us, helping us with our lines and guiding our actions.  AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
