MorningPrayer Monday

Dear God,
   Thank you for this day and the gifts it brings. May we pause in appreciation at the beauty and goodness that comes our way.  May we be overwhelmed by love, constant and spontaneous. May we have clarity in our seeing, knowing and doing and if not, may there be gentleness in our loved ones and friends. Help us to shine in truth and harmony, casting light of your grace into our world. Prayerfully we speak. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
