MorningPrayer Monday

Dear God,
   We pray to be aware of actions given and actions received.  No matter how little or large, may we see the rhythm of your touch, O God, and understand our connections to one another. Caught in this web of life, we breathe the breath of the ancient people and pray the prayers of the future yet to come. We are the sunlight in our morning drink and the minerals in our afternoon bread.  We are the results of wisdom words and dreams unfolding. We are spirit and soul, the heartbeat of the universe. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
