MorningPrayer Wednesday

Dear God,
   There is snow in the driveway, ice on the walkway, dust on the furniture, dishes in the sink, clothes in the hamper, papers in the inbox, calls to be made, bills to be paid, exercises to do, thoughts to think and therefore, help us to pause and do nothing. Yes! Help us to be still, to empty our minds, and fill our hearts with your presence. May we hear the angels singing and feel the brush of angel wings. May we center ourselves in your spirit and know your love as we live in your grace. Hear our prayer, AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
