MorningPrayer Tuesday

Dear God,
  Chasing rainbows is a hazardous occupation, not in chasing gold but in pursuing goodness.  May our eyes and heart chase loving kindness in spite of clouds that obscure and winds that blow. In humility might we reach for vivid colors of light and clasp shining love to our chests as we laugh at the darkness and chaos.
Why have we come? Why are we here? We proclaim that we are here to love the light and push away the darkness. We grasp your garment, God, and reach for the Sacred Kingdom. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
