MorningPrayer Thursday


Dear God,

When the world seems dark and dangerous and we are filled with strife,
we look to your for that opening of hope,
 that ray of light that shines in the darkness.
Help us to keep our senses open and alert 
so we don't miss the promise of love.
Help us to commit to prayer, devotion and gentle harmony 
so we might live within that light as our source of nurture and life itself. 
In Jesus we pray. 

AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
