Dear God,

Good Friday presents us with a bleak picture of justice--
 humanity turning against, love, justice and peace.
 The ruins of hope surround us and we might feel fear and profound loss of purpose,
 But we are reminded by your presence and grace that life continues
. We are reminded to seek out that window of light and joy as the hope for our future. 
You keep us alive and you prepare us for new life. 
In you, hope is born again and again, and we will not fear. 
Your angels attend us and sing new harmonies of wonder and potential.

 Amen

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
