MorningPrayer Saturday




Dear Lord God,

The Dogwood flower brings us spring flourishing-- 
New hope being born.
Teach us to stop and ponder the meaning of beauty and the beauty of meaning.
May we be content within the gentle petals of the flower.
May we hear your whisper ever so soft, in the flutter of the blossom.
May we know your presence and breathe in the scent of hope.
Quietly, we are at peace in this time of rebirth.

AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
